We are without a home, without a address and couldn't be happier about it! We closed a week ago Friday, without a hitch, and are enjoying hotel living. My favorite part of a move is when we are living on top of each other with none of our usual distractions. And we harass each other to no end. It's bliss!
The weekend before our packout we hosted K's early 13th birthday party and going away party. I was in awe with how talented her friends are. I had them each paint a 6X6 canvas for her new room. I'm pretty sure two of them could become world famous artists, glad we snagged some of their work before it's too pricey. They had fits of giggles until about 2am, at one point I walked downstairs to find a girl with ice cubes in her arm pits. I didn't even blink before I turned around to head upstairs and tell Anthony and laugh about it. By all accounts, the party was a success. And I give Anthony and I each gold stars for surviving her first sleepover party!
Other big news is that K's braces are off. More big news, they're going right back on! I'm not happy with how one of her top teeth is placed. Krista says she doesn't mind it, but in Krista speak that means she's isn't lovin' it and Anthony, the man who never has an opinion, said to get it fixed. So we're going to have some adventures in braces once we hit Kansas, but it will all be worth it when we're all happy with her smile, especially her.

Packed!
For the past three days it's been move central. Up at the crack of dawn and in bed after 10. That makes for cranky girls. Anthony's relief arrived the same day as the start of the packout, that man will do anything to avoid helping with a move! Turns out we really didn't need him because the packers were wonderful!! A 24 hour stomach bug arrived about five minutes before the moving company descended upon our house so the first day was ROUGH, but even with that the movers were just wonderful.
Loading was a different story. Within minutes of meeting the driver and loading crew (different from the packers) I knew we were in for a rough day. He was making sexist comments within five minutes of being in the house and when he ruined the front of my precious fridge he was just about dead to me. When he started screaming at me about how the fridge was already ruined before it was on the truck I was ready to help him meet his maker. Instead, for the first time in his career I called the quarterdeck and told Anthony to get his @ss home. And once he walked in the driver had a new attitude and while that irritated me to no end, at least the day is over and our stuff is on the way to Kansas!
